To help you have greater peace-of-mind, the Australian Payments Clearing Association has introduced new measures to counter these problems.
Compact prints and design our cheques to conform with the bank’s strict requirements. That means that all of the cheques we produce include security features to prevent tampering or forgery, including:
- Fugitive ink causes the background to change colour if an eraser is used to alter the cheque.
- Sensitised paper also helps to prevent alterations to cheques.
- Watermarked paper prevents the cheque being photocopied as the watermark will not show on the copy.
- MICR Encoding speeds up the cheque clearance time in addition to providing added security.
